Abstract Funeral record books include name of deceased, place of birth, residence, cause of death, type of service, age, occupation, name of attending clergyman and physician, and place of burial. Overview Silas Earl Ross (1887-1975) was a Nevada funeral director (Ross-Burke Company); member of University of Nevada-Reno faculty (1909-1914) and Board of Regents (1932-1956). Active in the Freemasons from 1908-1975, Ross served as the Nevada Grand Master. Ross also served as chair of the Nevada State Republican Central Committee and Reno City Councilman.
