Joseph H. Robertson was a Reno, Nevada resident and professor of range management at the University of Nevada, Reno. The collection contains letters written by Robertson to Nevada's U.S. Senators and Representatives, and their responses to him. Subjects include the military, taxation, campaign finance ethics, Social Security, foreign policy, arms and gun control, wilderness and Nevada issues.

James David Santini's papers as Representative to the U.S. Congress from Nevada include files related to his committee assignments and interests, particularly on the Energy and Commerce Committee; Interior and Insular Affairs Committee; and Select Committee on Aging. Campaign files are included. Material from 1974-1982.

Jim Santini, after having served as a Democrat in the House of Representatives for Nevada, switched parties to run as a Republican for the U. S. Senate against Harry Reid in 1986. Susan Lynn served as his campaign manager. The collection contains Lynn's materials created and collected during her work as campaign manager for Santini's rural tour.
