The Board is responsible for the governance of the institutions comprising the Nevada System of Higher Education. Overview The replica Fremont Cannon was donated by the Kennecott Copper Corporation to the University of Nevada on November 26, 1970, in Las Vegas during the homecoming football game between the UNLV Rebels and the UNR Wolf Pack. Overview David Walker Hayes attended the University of Nevada, 1896-1900. He was a resident of Lincoln Hall Dormitory, and participated in athletics and various student societies. Robert M. Brambila was a 1897 graduate from the University. The collection contains university memorabilia: room and board receipts, athletic and theatrical programs, and photographs. Included is copy of letter to Hayes from Robert M. Brambila, while Brambila was in the Philippine Islands, June 8, 1899.
