He was a resident of Lincoln Hall Dormitory and participated in athletics and various student societies (including the local fraternity, T.H.P.O.). He served as Cadet Major for the Cadet Corps his senior year and managed the University's Military Department after Lieutenant E. W. Hubbard was called to active duty in the Spanish-American War. Abstract James W. Hulse joined the history department at the University of Nevada in 1962. His research specialization was the history of Nevada and the American West, Russian and modern European social and intellectual history, and was author of a University of Nevada history. Collection contains minutes, notes, and correspondence of committees he served on, causes he supported, comments on his history of the university, and his observations on Governor's Day, 1970.

Abstract The collection consists of 198 reels of 16mm film produced by the Athletic Department of the University of Nevada, Reno of intercollegiate athletic events. Primarily covered are football games from the period 1939-1985 and some footage of men's track (1960s) and basketball (1947, 1962-1967). In addition there is one reel identified as out-takes of campus footage of buildings, homecoming, and the Nevada Centennial, circa 1960-1964.

Abstract Mackay Day is an annual celebration held over a period of a week in honor of the Mackay family, early benefactors of the University.
