American Legion, Darrell Dunkle Post 1 Records
The American Legion, Darrell Dunkle Post 1 was the local branch of national organization of servicemen and women founded in about 1919. The collection includes correspondence, financial records, membership rolls, and publications generated at the national, state (Department of Nevada), and local levels from the men's organization, the women's auxiliary, and "La societe des 40 hommes et 8 chevaux" (the "40 & 8", veterans of WWI horse units).

Andrew H. Scott Papers
Andrew H. Scott (1888-?) was a Nevada mineral assayer from Rochester and Lovelock, Nevada. He also served in World War I, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, and Knights of Pythis. The collection includes Scott's business and personal papers which document his business, fraternal activities, and mining interests.
V. F. Whittlesea Papers
Victor F. Whittlesea (1910-1972) was a Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada businessman and owner of taxi cab company, commander of the American Legion in Las Vegas, and unsuccessful candidate for Nevada Lieutenant Governor in 1950. The collection contains political materials related to Whittlesea's Lt. Governor campaign (speeches, ballots, newspaper ads and clippings); clippings, pamphlets, and photos of his taxi cab business and American Legion activities; and personal correspondence.
