Overview
The collection consists primarily of materials created and/or used by Ford during her years as Nevada state legislator and during the operation of her businesses. Additional materials include personal papers, and course materials from her role as instructor in the Women’s Studies Program at UNR. A series which was added in 1996 contains materials about the many organizations and committees she has been involved with in her professional career.

Imogene Evelyn Young (Jean) Ford (1929-1998) served in the Nevada State Assembly (1972-19760 and in the Nevada State Senate from Clark County, District 3 (1977-1982). The collection includes clippings, correspondence, and political handouts for Mary L. Gojack's 1982 campaign for U.S. Congresswoman from Nevada, and 1988 Nevada campaigns for local and federal offices; and printed materials on the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, women's rights and legal status, age and sex...

Series of taped radio presentations about the 1976 Nevada general election. Guests included Don W. Driggs, Jean Ford, Elmer M. Gunderson, Sue Wagner, Allen R. Wilcox, Donald R. Mello, and Roy L. Torrinen. The series was funded by a grant from the Nevada Humanities Committee. Created by the University of Nevada, Reno's Radio and Television Center in 1976.
