Abstract Howard Edgar Browne (1896-1990) attended the University of Nevada (1914-1918), Yale Law School, and Harvard Law School. He served as the District Attorney for Lander County, Nevada from 1922-1942, and was in private practice from 1945-1984. The Commencement Invitation Collection was discovered by Lou Allard during the demolition of a home in Reno, Nevada. The collection includes commencement invitations between 1882-1906 sent to Benjamin Franklin and Isabel Leete from various individuals graduating from Bishop Whitaker's School for Girls and the University of Nevada.

Stanley Gustavus Palmer (1887-1975) and Ethel Grace Prouty (1887-1947) were residents of Reno, Nevada and attended the University of Nevada. Stanley was an instructor, professor, and dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Nevada from 1915-1957. The collection contains personal papers and photographs taken by Stanley as well as postcards from the Prouty family.
