Norman Biltz (1902-1973) was a developer and real estate broker in the Lake Tahoe and western Nevada regions and was also involved in Nevada politics. The collection contains materials related to his career and interests in land development as well as politics. Most of the clippings and manuscripts are about Biltz and associates.

Mildred Breedlove Papers

Abstract

Mildred Breedlove was appointed Nevada poet laureate in 1957 and 1959 and was active in the Las Vegas Branch of National Pen Women. She organized the Nevada State Poetry Society in 1961. Included are correspondence, Breedlove's published and unpublished poetry, clippings, awards, certificates, photographs, scrapbook of published poems, and portrait painted in oils. Material between 1945-2000.

Abstract Campaign for Choice was organized in Reno, Nevada in August 1989 to ensure passage of Question 7 on the November 6, 1990 ballot. In essence, Question 7 affirmed an existing Nevada statute (NRS 442.250 based on Roe vs. Wade) and prohibited its modification or repeal except by a direct vote of the people. If Question 7 failed, the Nevada statute would be void, enabling the legislature to regulate, modify, and even prohibit reproductive rights for women. The campaign was successful, however,...

Anne Underwood Church (1900-1975) attended the University of Nevada from 1919-1921 and was the first wife of Willis Humprey Church, son of Dr. James E. and Florence Church. The collection contains correspondece and poems primarily from James E. Church to Anne, an account log from Anne and Willis' trip to Europe, newspaper clippings about and articles by James E. Church, a photograph album of views of Europe, and a scrapbook documenting her time at the University of Nevada.

Ty Cobb papers consist of personal papers relating to him and his family, as well as his professional role as writer and editor at the Nevada State Journal, and its successor, the Reno Gazette-Journal.
