Overview The Baumann family, originally from Ohio, consisted of five siblings, three of whom (Jacob, Sophia (Welch), and Carline) settled in Nevada in the 1870s. The collection consists primarily of correspondence to and from the Baumann siblings as well as other documents from their family. Additionally, the collection includes correspondence to John Piper of the Piper's Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada regarding booking performers for the venue.

Overview Blanche Parker and Robert Bryant graduated from the University of Nevada in 1946 and 1949 respectively. Soon after enrolling at the University, Robert enlisted in the Army Air Corps. After training, he was deployed to Italy where he served during the last year of World War II. During this time, Blanche continued studying and also worked at the Herlong Army Depot in munitions. Overview Colonel Tyrus William Cobb (1940- ) is a third-generation Nevadan who worked under President Ronald Reagan as a national security advisor as well as the Director of Soviet, European, and Canadian Affairs. Collection contains materials related to Cobb's time working under President Reagan, as well as information from his time in Vietnam and as a professional outside the White House. Collection materials include photos, newspaper clippings, and other documents.
Abstract The County Fiscal Officers Association of Nevada was founded on April 27, 1946 in Reno, Nevada. They improved operations at county governments in Nevada. Included are the constitution and bylaws of the CFOA, minutes, programs of annual meetings, correspondence, history of CFOA, membership lists, clippings and scrapbooks from 1946-1995.
Overview Andrew “Jack” Dieringer (1925-2020) graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1948 with a degree in biology. He began working for the Nevada Fish and Game Commission directly out of college and continued there until his retirement in 1983. Collection includes daily diaries kept by Dieringer from February 1951 to his retirement in 1983 and record his daily work activities, meetings, and trips to the field.
Overview Jane Pickering-Crandell was a photography student of Peter Goin in 1986. The collection contains four images taken by Pickering-Crandell in the fall of October 2013 of Franktown Road in Washoe Valley, Nevada that document the historic barns and structures, many of which burned in the 2016 Little Valley Fire.
Overview The George E. Gruell Papers contain materials that cover Gruell's long career with state and federal agencies, and later as a consultant, contractor, instructor, and author. Much of Gruell's work and research focused on wildlife habitat management in forests including pinyon-juniper communities, the effects of fire on wildlife habitats in the Sierra Nevada, and landscape ecology in the West.
