Mildred Breedlove was appointed Nevada poet laureate in 1957 and 1959 and was active in the Las Vegas Branch of National Pen Women. She organized the Nevada State Poetry Society in 1961. Included are correspondence, Breedlove's published and unpublished poetry, clippings, awards, certificates, photographs, scrapbook of published poems, and portrait painted in oils. Material between 1945-2000.
Nell Lounsberry Murbarger (1909-1991) was an author best known for her writings about the desert and her popularization of the hobby of "ghost towning." Collection contains one fan letter and a poem written by Nell Lounsberry to author Zane Grey in December 1927.
Carol Darwin Nabors attended high school in Hollywood, California with Joanne (Cutten) de Longchamps. Joanne Cutten de Longchamps was born in Los Angeles in 1923 and attended schools in Los Angeles and Paris where she studied painting and music, both of which she pursued later in life. The collection contains scrapbooks that include copies of Joanne's poems, correspondence, articles, programs, greeting cards, and photographs of Joanne and her interests.
