Great Basin National Park Foundation Oral Histories

The Great Basin National Park Foundation Oral History Project begain in the mid-2000s as a way to preserve and document the cultural heritage of the Great Basin in over 60 interviews with individuals who were raised and worked in White Pine County, Nevada and Millard County, Utah. The collection primarily contains oral history recordings by Dave Tilford completed over the course of approximatly 15 years from the mid-2000s-2019.

Cornell Henry Vander Meer (1897-1981) was a high school science teacher in White Pine County, Nevada in the 1920s and 1930s. The collection contains reminiscences about Vander Meer's arrival in Ely in 1926, teaching high school, and descriptions and photos of the community, pupils and other teachers.
