Abstract Alfred Leslie Higginbotham (1895-1967) taught for more than 40 years at the University of Nevada. During his tenure at the University, he served on numerous committees and boards both on and off campus as well as professional journalism societies. He assisted in founding the Nevada State Press Association, was appointed historian of the University of Nevada during World War II, and began the Nevada Newspaper Hall of Fame in 1948.
