Johnson-Jeffries Prize Fight Postcard
On July 4, 1910, in Reno, Nevada, the "Fight of the Century" boxing match took place between Jack Johnson and James "Jim" Jeffries. The collection contains one postcard sent by George W. Haigh from Reno, Nevada, to C. O. Rinehard in Seattle, Washington on July 4, 1910, right after the conclusion of the famous Johnson-Jeffries prize fight.
Cordell Jones Scrapbook
Cordell Jones was an African American boxer in Nevada in the 1950s. The collection contains one scrapbook of photographs and newspaper clippings documenting Jones, boxing in Nevada in the mid-20th century, and African Americans in Nevada.

Letter from A. Livingston to the Bullion and Exchange Bank Carson City
On January 29, 1897, Nevada Governor Reinhold Sadler signed a bill making "glove contest" prizefights legal in Nevada. Collection contains one letter written by Al Livingston to the Bullion and Exchange Bank, Carson City on May 10, 1902 stating that Livingston has given Harry Corbett, brother of former heavyweight champion Jim Corbett, a check for $1,000 for a glove contest to take place in Nevada in July 1902.
