Abstract Bertha Woodard was a resident of Sparks, Nevada and employed by the Washoe Medical Center. She was involved in many organizations. Woodard's speech briefly describes the civil rights movement in Nevada, her participation in the 1963 "March on Washington" on behalf of the civil rights movement, and the March 1983 commemorative march "Peace, jobs and freedom" rally, also in Washington D.C.
