Abstract

The Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company was organized in 1873 with Duane L. Bliss as president and general manger and H. M. Yerington, D. O. Mills and J. A. Rigby as stockholders. It was probably the largest and most extensive lumber operation serving the mines of the Comstock. Collection includes correspondence, company papers, land related documents, financial accounts, lumber statistics and maps from 1858-1946.

P. N. Marker was owner of a flume which transported lumber from Mt. Rose to Washoe City and Pleasant Valley, Nevada. Included is a location notice filed by Marker and Christian Bastian for the Marker and Bastian's Lower Extension Flume from Mt. Rose to Washoe City and Pleasant Valley, with plat map of the extension flume and its connections with Galena Creek and the Brown and Eagen Flume; and bill of sale for food and sundries by Marker to Robert Pitchur, between 1875-1876.
