Dr. John O. Moseley (1893-1955) was appointed president of the University of Nevada in 1945, and served in that capacity until he resigned in 1949. Sigma Gamma Epsilon, an honorary mining engineering fraternity, was founded at the University of Kansas in 1914, and the University of Nevada Pi Chapter was founded December 19, 1924, after being originally established in 1923 as Kappa Zeta.
