Abstract Nevada, one of fifty was a series of radio programs produced by the University of Nevada, Reno, as part of the U.S. Bicentennial celebration, which explored various aspects of the state: history, politics, immigrants, Native Americans, government, ghost towns, art, and some individuals. George Herman, professor of English at the University of Nevada, was the most frequent host but every show featured a different guest. Forty-six programs were produced, this collection is incomplete....

Hugh A. Shamberger Papers

Hugh A. Shamberger (1990-1992) was an engineer for the State of Nevada from 1929 until his retirement from the Desert Research Institute in 1967. He wrote a series of book on mining history of Nevada. Collection contains research, notes, and photographs created and gathered by Hugh Shamberger for the publication of his book series called Historic Mining Camps of Nevada.
