Abstract George E. Gruell began his career with the State of Nevada Fish and Game Deparment in 1953. After five years, went on to joined the U.S. Forest Service where he remained for the next 25 years serving first as a Wildlife Biologist in the national forests and experiment stations of Nevada, Wyoming, and Montana and later as a Fuels Management Officer for the Intermountain Region based in Ogden, Utah. Gruell retired in 1987 but continued working as a consultant, contractor and instructor....

Began December 2015 as a non-profit as a statewide repository of artifacts & ephemera pertaining to the LGBT population in Nevada. Collection highlights northern Nevada resources available to LGBT community and the events held by/for them, and for the LGBT community in Nevada. Collection materials include brochures, posters, newspaper articles, and banners created between 1965 and 2018.

Hugh A. Shamberger Papers

Abstract

Hugh A. Shamberger (1990-1992) was an engineer for the State of Nevada from 1929 until his retirement from the Desert Research Institute in 1967. He wrote a series of book on mining history of Nevada. Collection contains research, notes, and photographs created and gathered by Hugh Shamberger for the publication of his book series called Historic Mining Camps of Nevada.
