Mary L. Gojack Papers

Abstract Mary L. Gojack (1936-1985) served in the Nevada State Assembly from 1972-1974 and the Nevada State Senate from 1974-1978. In 1980, Gojack unsuccessfully challenged Paul Laxalt for the US Senate seat, and, in 1982, she ran against Barbara Vucanovich for the newly created Second Congressional District seat. Joseph H. Robertson was a Reno, Nevada resident and professor of range management at the University of Nevada, Reno. The collection contains letters written by Robertson to Nevada's U.S. Senators and Representatives, and their responses to him. Subjects include the military, taxation, campaign finance ethics, Social Security, foreign policy, arms and gun control, wilderness and Nevada issues.
