McDonald (1891-1971) was a Nevada newspaperman, editor and publisher of the Nevada State Journal, 1939-1956; president of Reno Newspapers Incorporated; and president of the Nevada-California Lake Tahoe Association. The collection contains personal papers, 1911-1970; material related to Reno newspapers, 1928-1963; and records and related material of the Nevada-California Lake Tahoe Association, 1957-1968.

Letter from Lorena E. Meadows to Hugh A. Shamberger
Hugh Shamberger was the first director of the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and a Nevada mining camp history enthusiast. Lorena E. Meadows was the author of a book on her family's history in Nevada. Collection contains a letter and envelope from Meadows to Shamberger from August 30, 1979 regarding Meadow's research, her short story on Weepah, Nevada, and her discovery of two photos from Goldfield, Nevada.

Carol Nabors Collection of Joanne de Longchamps Materials
Carol Darwin Nabors attended high school in Hollywood, California with Joanne (Cutten) de Longchamps. Joanne Cutten de Longchamps was born in Los Angeles in 1923 and attended schools in Los Angeles and Paris where she studied painting and music, both of which she pursued later in life. The collection contains scrapbooks that include copies of Joanne's poems, correspondence, articles, programs, greeting cards, and photographs of Joanne and her interests.

Formerly tipped into Norris' book Family gathering: the memoirs of Kathleen Norris (Garden City, N.Y.: Doubleday and Company, 1959). Also, a postcard from Norris to Bertha M. Rice about Rice's accident and a book Norris was sending. Tipped into Norris' book Noon an autobiographical sketch.
