Jack Dieringer Papers

Abstract

Andrew “Jack” Dieringer (1925-2020) graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1948 with a degree in biology. He began working for the Nevada Fish and Game Commission directly out of college and continued there until his retirement in 1983. Collection includes daily diaries kept by Dieringer from February 1951 to his retirement in 1983 and record his daily work activities, meetings, and trips to the field.

The Geneva Douglas papers are largely composed of materials related to her participation in Soroptimist International. Smaller portions of the collection come from her professional work at the U.S. Public Health Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Nevada Nuclear Waste Study Group. Other volunteer organizations activities are also present, including Douglas’s role as chairperson of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Volunteerism. Material between 1945-1993.

Harry (1904-1990) and Joan Deeley (1914-1991) Drackert owned and operated the Pyramid Lake Guest Ranch, the Donner Trails, Guest Ranch, the Silver Circle Guest Ranch, and Indian Territory, Inc. (store). The collection consists of records and papers of the Drackerts' three guest ranches and their store as well as papers of Harry Drackert's parents, Charles E. and Alice Richtmyer Drackert.

Abstract Flood and Hayes was a vaudeville company whose principal members were J.W. Flood and May Belle Hayes. Flood was a vaudeville and circus acrobat; his wife May Belle Hayes was a singer, dancer, and acrobat who teamed with Flood in his road shows across the United States.
