Abstract Robert A. Allen was born on May 16, 1886 in Pueblo, Colorado. He received his education there and also at the University of Nevada, Reno where he studied electrical engineering and graduated in 1915. He served as an assistant state engineer under J.G. Scrugham and was subsequently appointed by Governor Scrugham to the post of state engineer, 1923-1927. Abstract

The Humboldt River is an extensive river drainage system located in north-central Nevada. Included in this collection is a proposed findings of fact, conclusions of law and decree; and notice of delivery to Judge H.W. Edwards, of those proposed findings from 1934-1935. These findings adjudicated appeals to a previous case of 1931, which was presided over by Judge George A. Bartlett.

Robert Leland (1912-1986) was a Nevada lawyer who worked closely with Washoe and Paiute Indigenous Peoples. Material in the collection is exclusively concerned with issues of Indigenous Peoples, mainly the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. The collection includes correspondence, notes, reports, legal documents, printed material, tribal records, and maps relate to Pyramid Lake Paiute tribal concerns including water, economic development, and claims.

Fred H. Settelmeyer (1892-1989) was born in Nevada and served in Nevada State Senate 1947-1961. He was appointed to Nevada Commission of California-Nevada Interstate Compact Commission, 1956 and to the Pyramid Lake Task Force in 1969 representing Carson River interests. The collection contains material concerning the California-Nevada Interstate Compact Commission and the Pyramid Lake Task Force.
