Florence Sanford Burdge (1912-1986) was a freelance writer, editor, and journalist in Reno, Nevada. The collection includes draft and published copies of Burge's writings as a freelance author and women's page editor; correspondence from readers and friends; correspondence and papers related to receiving the J. C. Penney -University of Missouri award for best women's pages; and unpublished biography of Noble Getchell. Material from 1955-1966.

Manuscript copies and corrected galley proofs for book Rimbles by Evans, a collection of children's rhymes for games such as jump rope, hopscotch, etc. Also included are five books on these individual games which were the basis for Rimbles.

Olga Augusta (Wuertz) Reifschneider (1900-1978) was a Reno, Nevada botanist and author. The collection includes notes, printed materials, and correspondence about botany and other life sciences, medicinal plants, western botanists, Nevada history, the environment, and professional women.

Manuscript and notes on the history of Nevada, including women teachers; Sparks and Churchill County, Nevada; and Paiute Indians. Also included are curriculum materials on Nevada history; correspondence about Sawyer's research, statistics on land ownership and use in Nevada, turkey production in the Fallon area, and copies of presidential executive orders establishing wildlife refuges in Nevada.
