Antipa Family Slide Collection

Overview George Alexander Antipa, his wife Edwina, and two daughters, June and Susan, frequently took trips to the Sierra Nevadas from San Francisco, California. The collection contains digital surrogates of slides of the Antipa and Fulton family members at Squaw Valley following the 1960 Winter Oypmpic Games as well as imgaes from around Lake Tahoe, Sutro, and Virginia City, Nevada.

Overview The Arrowhead D Ranch was located at Sutcliff, Pyramid Lake, Nevada. It was owned by William Shepherd Dana and Ella Marian Lindley. The collection contains photographs of the ranch buildings, land surrounding the ranch, and individuals on horseback.

Baumann Family Papers

Overview The Baumann family, originally from Ohio, consisted of five siblings, three of whom (Jacob, Sophia (Welch), and Carline) settled in Nevada in the 1870s. The collection consists primarily of correspondence to and from the Baumann siblings as well as other documents from their family. Additionally, the collection includes correspondence to John Piper of the Piper's Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada regarding booking performers for the venue.

Robert Bridges Papers

Overview Robert Bridges (1914-1989) He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII and was honorably discharged in December 1945. Before joining the Marines, Bridges worked on both the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. After his return from war and his discharge from the military, he joined the U.S. Mint in San Francisco. The collection contains papers and ephemera collected by him while working at the U.S. Mint as well as events he attended during that time period.

Robert and Blanche Bryant Papers

Overview Blanche Parker and Robert Bryant graduated from the University of Nevada in 1946 and 1949 respectively. Soon after enrolling at the University, Robert enlisted in the Army Air Corps. After training, he was deployed to Italy where he served during the last year of World War II. During this time, Blanche continued studying and also worked at the Herlong Army Depot in munitions. Overview Andrew “Jack” Dieringer (1925-2020) graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1948 with a degree in biology. He began working for the Nevada Fish and Game Commission directly out of college and continued there until his retirement in 1983. Collection includes daily diaries kept by Dieringer from February 1951 to his retirement in 1983 and record his daily work activities, meetings, and trips to the field.
