Courtenay Swain McGowen Records
Legislative records contain meeting notes, background material, draft and final versions of bills sponsored by McGowen, her speeches in the Assembly, clippings, notes, statistics, audio tapes of committee meetings, and minutes of committee meetings. Election records include materials related to McGowen's Assembly campaigns: opinion polls and questionnaires, campaign plans, press releases, publicity materials, and campaign disclosure reports (1978-1989).
National Organization for Women, Northern Nevada Chapter Records
The Northern Nevada Chapter (NNC) of the National Organization for Women (NOW) was organized at a meeting of forty women in Reno in September, 1973, by Patricia Lynch and Cheryl Jean Yee. Included are bylaws, minutes, newsletters, news releases, program flyers, correspondence, and subject files.,Subject file topics include abortion, the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, lesbian rights, reproductive rights, and sexual harassment.
