Washoe Valley (Nev.)

Jane Pickering-Crandell was a photography student of Peter Goin in 1986. The collection contains four images taken by Pickering-Crandell in the fall of October 2013 of Franktown Road in Washoe Valley, Nevada that document the historic barns and structures, many of which burned in the 2016 Little Valley Fire.

Materials cover the life and work of philanthropist, feminist, political activist, and one-time Nevada U. S. Senate candidate, Maya Miller from the years 1953-2003. The collection includes correspondence, speeches, campaign materials, news clips, agendas, bulletins, reports, and audio/visual resources with particular emphasis placed on Miller's position as Chairperson on the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas-based community development corporation, Operation Life.

Typescript manuscript recounting the history of the Washoe Valley south of Reno, Nevada, and the Comstock Lode at Virginia City, Nevada, including accounts of early settlers, miners, and businessmen. The collection contains material from 1971 created by Myra Sauer Ratay.
