Abstract
Effie Mona Mack (1888-1969) was an American historian, educator, and textbook co-author. The collection contains edited manuscript, photographs and maps for Mack's book on the history of Nevada to 1864 (1935) as well as her syllabus prepared for a high school history class on the history of Nevada (1945).

In 1988, the President of the Friends of the University Libraries, Marilyn Melton, proposed an awards program to honor and celebrate Nevada writers.
