Mackay by his wife and his son, Marie Louise Mackay and Clarence Hungerford Mackay. Overview In 1993, University of Nevada, Reno head football coach Chris Ault stepped down and named assistant Jeff Horton to replace him. Five months after taking over as head coach, Horton left to lead the University of Nevada, Las Vegas team, and Ault again became coach for UNR.
