Carson City Community Access Television began broadcasting in 1990 as a tool for free speech in an open democracy, with recording equipment available for public use. The collection contains 384 VHS cassette tapes that document Carson City Community Access Television (CAT) channel from 1985-2003. The tapes include programs, events, meetings, and other activities that took place in Carson City, Nevada.
"Focus on Education," produced in 1972 by the Education Department of the McClatchy Broadcasting Corporation, hosted by Stan Pierson, and shown on television station KOVR, Sacramento, California, features the University of Nevada, Reno.
The John W. Mackay statue and the Mackay School of Mines building, were originally dedicated on June 10, 1908 in honor of John W. Mackay by his wife and his son, Marie Louise Mackay and Clarence Hungerford Mackay. Originally dedicated on June 10, 1908, the John Mackay Statue was rededicated by the Mackay School of Mines on April 25, 1996. The collection contains materials created for the rededication ceremony.
The video consists of still photographs, film footage, and narration briefly describing the history of the football program at the University of Nevada and the "team of the century,", the program's 31 greatest players.
