Overview Carson City Community Access Television began broadcasting in 1990 as a tool for free speech in an open democracy, with recording equipment available for public use. The collection contains 384 VHS cassette tapes that document Carson City Community Access Television (CAT) channel from 1985-2003. The tapes include programs, events, meetings, and other activities that took place in Carson City, Nevada.

Overview Harry Michael Chase, Jr. (April 11, 1924-August 12, 1996) served for 25 years as a member of the political science faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno. He was the author of several studies of American foreign policy. Collection includes one videorecording and a memorial program listing speakers at the service.

Abstract Two 2-inch reels were received in 1977, from Ed Olsen, Director of Information. In 1991, the tapes were transferred to videocassette at a local television station when it was discovered that the University no longer had the equipment to run the tapes. In 1999, the original tapes were given to the Sacramento Archives and Museum, Collection Center, to add to the McClatchy Collection.
