Abstract George Dewey Melody was a Nevadan, veteran of World War I, rancher, construction worker, and Nevada Assemblyman, 1951-1953. Melody recalls his childhood on Rebel Creek, Humboldt County, Nevada; gives biographical sketches of his parents; tells of his father's relationship with Indians in the Ft. McDermitt, Nevada area; describes ranching in northern Nevada, his work experiences and the 1929 depression. Material from 1929.
