Abstract George Whittell was a California millionaire who owned property on the east shore of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He was an ambulance driver in France during World War 1. Certificates of honorary appointments as deputy U.S. marshall, firewarden, and fireman (California); and certificates of appreciation, mostly in French, for Whittell's efforts on behalf of the French during World War I. Material between 1921-1935.
