Katharine Norrid Mergen (1910-1997) was a journalist for the Reno Evening Gazette, president of the American Newspaper Guild, Local 208, and a professional writer for the U.S. Forest Service as well as the U. Mildred Breedlove was appointed Nevada poet laureate in 1957 and 1959 and was active in the Las Vegas Branch of National Pen Women. She organized the Nevada State Poetry Society in 1961. Included are correspondence, Breedlove's published and unpublished poetry, clippings, awards, certificates, photographs, scrapbook of published poems, and portrait painted in oils. Material between 1945-2000.

Church, a photograph album of views of Europe, and a scrapbook documenting her time at the University of Nevada.
