The Carson and Colorado Railroad was incorporated in May 1880 to service the growing Mining Companies of the west Central Nevada and nearby California. Collection contains organizational papers, correspondence, land related documents, financial statements between 1880-1916. The Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company was organized in 1873 with Duane L. Bliss as president and general manger and H. M. Yerington, D. O. Mills and J. A. Rigby as stockholders. It was probably the largest and most extensive lumber operation serving the mines of the Comstock. Collection includes correspondence, company papers, land related documents, financial accounts, lumber statistics and maps from 1858-1946.

J. B. Gallagher was a rancher in Mason Valley, Esmeralda County, Nevada; a Nevada state Assemblyman, 1873-1874; and Nevada state Senator, 1879-1886. The collection contains deeds and promissory notes for ditches purchased by Gallager and for money owed him. Parties involved included Thomas Keene, Allen Snider, Henry Mather, and T. M. TenEyck.

Union Consolidated Silver Mining Company Records

Abstract The Union Mine was Part of the North End Mines of the Comstock Lode, the Union was an 1859 stake of 302 feet between the Mexican and Sierra Nevada Mines. Later, 270 additional feet were acquired from the North Ophir claim. Work began in 1860; although the Union had one of the deepest works (at 3350 feet), it was one of the least profitable of the Comstock; by the late 1870s it was producing no ore.
