C. C. Goodwin was a writer, politician, and journalist. He lived in Nevada from 1860-1880, and was associated with the Virginia City newspaper, the Territorial Enterprise. Collection contains one journal of unpublished writings on historical events and people in which Goodwin was interested.

Ronald M. James is an historian, folklorist, and former head of the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office (1983-2012). He authored or edited over a dozen books and numerous articles on Nevada's architectural heritage, history of Virginia City and its residents during the Comstock Lode, and in various areas of European and American folklore.
