Abstract Edna Burke Patterson was a member of the State Central Republican Committee and the Nevada State Board of Education, on which she served as the first woman president. In this manuscript of her book by the same title, Patterson recounts her childhood days; married life with her rancher husband, John Malcolm Patterson, in the Lamoille, Nevada, area; descriptions of Elko, Nevada; her work as an historian and author; and the establishment of the Northeastern Nevada Historical Society. Dated 1992.
