Overview John Gustafson was graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1938 and was a long-time resident of Alaska. The collection contains Gustafson's reminiscences and describe growing up in Minnesota, attending the University of Nevada, working as a range examiner for the U.S. Grazing Service in Nevada, homesteading and soil conservation in Alaska, and raising a family.
Overview John Newton Evans was a director of the Bank of Nevada and Farmers' and Merchants Bank and president of the University of Nevada Board of Regents. Collection includes papers included correspondence from him and various family members, legal documents, financial papers and clippings about the Evans family, their home and Reno. Material between 1892-1944.
