The North Star Mining Company had mine locations in Nevada, though the exact location of this mine is not specified. Two mines of the same name operated contemporaneously; one in Buena Vista District, Humboldt County, and the other in Jackson District, Nye County. The collection contains payroll, 1866-1868, listing names of employees and salary; and monthly recapitulations and division of time register, 1876-1877, which analyzes salaries paid to employees, by mine or mill department.

The Pamlico Mine was located in the Pamlico Mining District, situated in the western Garfield Hills, ten miles southeast of Hawthorne, Nevada. The Pamlico Mining Company operated from Hawthorne, Nevada with John Forbes as president, H. M. Yerington, treasurer, and S. A. Knopp, mine superintendent. The district yielded nearly a million dollars-worth of gold between 1885 and 1900. Collection contains correspondence, financial statements and accounts.
