Minutes of the Ancient Order of Hibernians
Local branch of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a national fraternal organization of men of Irish descent, organized in Austin on July 12, 1874. Contains minutes of meetings, including organizational meeting, include summary of business and names of members and officers.

Armstrong, Deputy Surveyor; city ordinance creating and defining the office; and tables establishing the official grades of city streets and alleys.

Included are receipts for goods purchased by the company and a letter from John Duncan to William (Bill) Duncan discussing horse trading and the possibility of Howard and Sanchez starting a bank in Austin, Nevada. Dates range from 1864-1866.
Early days in Nevada collection
Photocopies of a series of articles from the Chico enterprise (California) consisting of recollections of Nelson's years in Nevada with anecdotes concerning the social customs and political life of the era and his life as a miner, with sketches of journalists and political figures of Virginia City. Also included is a sketch of wheat ranching in northern California from 1860-1863 near Nelson.
