Abstract Henry N. Morse came to California in 1849 and served as sheriff of Alameda County from 1863-1877. Morse was an early investor in the Gold Park Mining District in Nevada and ran the district from 1896-1912. The collection contains papers related exclusively to the Gold Park Mining District (also known as Jackson Mining District) in Lander and Nye Counties, Nevada.
